Sunday, August 17th, 2008 - 07:43PM Cornish Tin Mine  « Previous Main Next » Just got back from a couple of days up in Ipswich for a wedding (congrats Mickey & Sarah). It was great to see everyone again; some of them for the first time in quite a few years. I'm very lucky to have so many wonderful friends that I can pick up with straightaway like we'd last spoken a week ago instead of a year (or more). Lots of plastic cameras on display too which was nice! This snap was taken down in Cornwall in May of this year. Agfa Isola and TMAX 400. I guess the sky looks highly processed, but the honest truth is that - following the patented Leon Taylor method - I did levels and curves for the image as a whole, then selected the sky area separately, pulled the curve down a bit and hey presto, the image suddenly started looking like one of Skorj's messed up Polaroids. I'm happy with it that's for sure. Black dots in the sky courtesy of the Isola. No idea how it happens, but every now and then I get these little black specks on the film. Love this shot, the spots are great. I still don't have a grasp of curves and such but whatever you needed to do it worked beautifully.
