Friday, May 7th, 2004 - 08:13AM Hard Revolution ![]() « Previous Main Next » [Photo: Japanese tourists, Oahu, Hawai'i. Camera: Yashica Electro GSN] This photo was a lucky accident. Jacqui and I were in a big hotel complex at the northernmost tip of Oahu waiting for a bus back to Honolulu. Just as we were about to leave a coachload of Japanese tourists arrived. Some of them came over to where we were sitting and stood in front of this window (taken w/ the Horizon 202). I just had time to get the Yashica ready and take a couple of snaps before it got too crowded. For me it's the hats that do it :-) Good news - it's Friday! Even better news - I've finally managed to get into the London office at my new job and will be using it as my base from now on. Apart from the 2 hour commute each way there's nothing wrong w/ the Reading office, but it honestly feels good to be working back in the hustle and bustle (not to mention the photo ops) of the big, bad city. I'm based right in the centre too and am looking forward to prowling around at lunchtimes w/ some weird retro camera. Just finished reading, "Hard Revolution" by Pelecanos - after swearing blind a couple of months ago that I'd not read another by him. I'm pleased to report that he's toned down the macho vibe (although there's still way too much info about cars) and a good time was has by all. Wennster, checked out your blog and am glad to hear you enjoyed the Pelecanos. I know I've seen the photo before but I really dig those Japanese dudes :-)

Yeah I see what you mean about the boat. I'd not thought of it like that! To my mind they look like people queueing for a Frank Sinatra tribute audition :-)
